My friend Sheila lives in Germany, and helped to organize people doing International Free Hug Day in Munich! They wound up in the news. She posted this link to a German news site, which I'm passing on to you. Even if you don't speak German, it's worth a look.

So, apparently Hillary Clinton challenged Barack Obama to an unmediated Lincoln v. Douglas sort of debate. In their coverage of the story, Fox News put up this graphic.

I got back from a lovely weekend in Ithaca to discover a news story you may have already heard about. On my street, about two blocks away from my house, there was a triple homicide. The proposed amendment to the Massachusetts constitution to ban gay marriage is officially dead! I went with Tauheed, Sylvia, and Jane to the State House to see a live broadcast of the vote. The hall was divided in half, for pro and anti gay marriage people. We filled up our entire half of the hall, and then took over the other side's balcony. ( Read more... )

The person reporting on this story labels it "Another village is missing its Republican idiot." I don't think Republicans are idiots. I do think, though, that the guy in this article is both idiotic and really malicious.
