We won!

The proposed amendment to the Massachusetts constitution to ban gay marriage is officially dead! I went with Tauheed, Sylvia, and Jane to the State House to see a live broadcast of the vote. The hall was divided in half, for pro and anti gay marriage people. We filled up our entire half of the hall, and then took over the other side's balcony. When the result was announced, we cheered and hugged and in general went nuts. It was amazing.

And now I'm famous! A Boston Globe reporter noticed me after I fell off of a chair (which was stupid, I'd been standing on one of those chairs that flip up when you aren't sitting on them; when I tried to step down, it flipped up, catching my left foot in between the seat and the back, and I fell into the aisle. It's a good thing I was on the aisle; had I fallen onto a row of seats I would certainly have injured myself and would probably have injured other people too). She asked me a bunch of questions, and I think wanted to interview Tauheed and me more, but wasn't able to because there weren't enough people working the event. But in any event, I made it into the article at the very end. They spelled my first name wrong and misreported my home town, but I don't care.

I get the last word!

WE'RE LEGAL!!!
