i keep trying to update, but i end up rambling, and don't touch on the important stuff. so, bullet points activate!
- my hip is jacked up thanks to muscle spasms, but it is recovering. i can walk and stand up straight. hot baths help. lying down for eight hours does not.
- i haven't been working a lot because of the house flooding, and the hip, but i will work tomorrow and friday and maybe thursday. next week is booked up too. things are still good work-wise and i have no reason to panic.
- we finally sat down and discussed medium and long term financial planning this weekend. danny inherited some money and we're making it work for us. the goal is to pay off credit debt, put the extra money per month towards the rest of the debt, then start building a 6 month living expense savings account.
- danny's store is closing at the end of the month because northgate mall is being renovated. three other lenscrafters have requested his help while his new store is built - corte madera, santa rosa and fairfield (the latter is halfway between sacramento and the bay area). i wish he didn't have to drive quite so much, and that corte madera gives him lots of work, but i'm proud of him for being "the fixer" and bringing that work ethic with him.
- more police applications this weekend.
- construction on the townhome next door is scheduled to end in the start of february. it can't come soon enough, and yet, i find myself finally accustomed to the racket. the adaptability of the human mind/body/spirit is amazing, in matters both large and titchy.
i'm not sure what to do with myself today. i will take another hot bath when the construction crew breaks for lunch, then yet another later on tonight. i soaked for an hour last night (our tub is not designed for such activities), and i have to admit, it made a big difference. i avoided painkillers up until this morning, when the intense ache of non-moving muscle was too much to bear; it's a weird feeling when your body insists you get up and move around. it's more painful than resting the injured muscle. backwards, but effective.
