Hurricane Sandy hit the Pittsburgh area on Monday night. We were late getting in, due to my bus passing me by, Brian having to do a detour to pick me up, and then a lengthy grocery run. Reading: Perdido Street Station for my online book club. I've been semi-curious about this one for a while now, but my only hesitation was that the writer was known for a particularly gritty style, and I'm not always one for pages of descriptions of filth and gore and scatology. Over the weekend, I finished reading two books, so I picked up another two from my "To be read" shelf. I tend to read multiple books at once, depending on where I am. So apparently there is a made-for-TV film adaptation of Moby Dick in the works, slated for 2010. William Hurt is Captain Ahab, and Ethan Hawke will be Starbuck. It had better be awesome or I will be sad and Herman Melville will cry, and then he will run to Nathaniel Hawthorne (so awesome!) and want to know why they have mangled his book.

Ugh. I got plenty of sleep last night (in theory), but it wasn't a good sleep. I think the bedroom was too cold and as a result, I was all huddled and tight and now my muscles ache and I have a slight headache, and on top of that my stomach feels a little off.
