When I got into work today, the power was out.  Yup.  Minimal lighting on the registers, which were also being run by the generator.   The night manager was walking in circles, making phone calls, assessing the situation.  My office was fine - sorta - in that all the lights were on, the computers worked, the phone okay.  Those particular functions ( Read more... )

I shouldn't have done it.  I got up today and started ripping out the old flooring in the kitchen.  It came out pretty easily, as whoever put it in only glued it around the perimeter.

I just got off the phone with our accounting department.  Thought there might have been a mistake in my paycheck.  I knew my vacation pay was coming, but I was pretty sure it had only been 20 hours' worth in the past.  This year it's 40.  Holy mackerel.  Materials for new kitchen floor, maybe?

In other news, it's a gorgeous day out there. 

And not a single untoward thing happened.  Hey, I had to catch a break sometime.
