I shouldn't have done it. I got up today and started ripping out the old flooring in the kitchen. It came out pretty easily, as whoever put it in only glued it around the perimeter.
Then I went to work, where I was supposed to be working in the aisles. Nothing doing. I cashed for three and a half hours straight, on an express line so I was humpin', folks. I got giddy and goofy pretty quickly, which was amusing as hell for the customers, but then when I did get off register and was allowed to go into the aisles, I was tired, and all I wanted to do was go home and sleep.
I've decided tomorrow I'm not going to do anything more strenuous than knit before I go to work, well maybe prepare tomorrow night's dinner. But still. I hate having to leave stuff like this for my days off, but I don't have a choice if I want to avoid injuring myself accidentally.
*Sigh* I'm not a kid anymore. That so sucks.
What doesn't suck is the camaraderie around the store. I was talking to one of my coworkers, and my walkie went off. I stick it on my waistband at the small of my back. Sue said to me, "Did you know your butt's talking?" I busted up.
Later on, I could have sworn my company phone had rung, but when I pulled it out of my pocket, there was nothing on the display to support this theory. I used my walkie to call to the front end, as the coordinator then in charge is someone whose judgment I trust enough to think it was probably mighty necessary.
"Did you call me?"
"No I didn't"
"Okay great, now I'm hallucinating."
"You're crazy" [said with some affection]
"Oh, and this is news?"
