I have a lot of music on my computer, and I've been using a small, battery-powered auxiliary speaker to listen to it.  It doesn't have much oomph, and we have a stand-alone speaker which runs on AC, through which Ray has played the music which is on his phone.  My computer didn't come with Bluetooth, which I could use to connect it to the larger ( Read more... )

Best 20-30 minutes I have spent in a looooong time: sitting on the grass across the street from my house, talking with a new friend about stuff I want to do or have done in my life, while looking at my gardens and thinking, Dayum that's beautiful.

And one thing leads to another and suddenly I'm watching a video about a new type of treatment for inoperable cancer.  It uses electrical current conducted through needles placed in the tumor.  I kept thinking, as I watched it, of our dear friend Kathy, who died three years ago this past May.  If only...

I woke up thinking, "moussaka!".  Saturday I went to Farmers & Artisans and while there, I bought an eggplant.  Didn't really have any plans to cook eggplant, but it was such a beauty.  I had some ground pork in the freezer, languishing, and somewhere during the night, I thought, I can make moussaka from the eggplant and the pork (it's supposed to ( Read more... )

I've been back on the front end cashing, a lot lately, and it feels great.  Great to not feel like I have to watch my back against arbitrary nonsensical attacks from a boss.  Great to be back to relating to customers the way one does on the front end.  Much more immediately and with a lot of humor.
