As much as I love the way they look, I don’t have the right shape of face to wear a flapper cloche like Miss Fisher.  My hairline is low, so they end up sitting too far  down on my face.

The bubble cloches of the 60s are a different matter, altogether.

...that I’d happily cut it all off, if I was going to the salon tomorrow. Alas, no. I get my second vaccine shot tomorrow, and then I’ll wait 2 weeks to get my hair cut.

Maybe I’ll be less pissed off with it then, but the warmer it gets, the more ready I am to let the hair experiment end. My hats look so much better with short hair.

I bought this Italian straw hat at Goodwill for around $5, but the crown was lumpy and squashed, so I re-blocked it this weekend, my very own self. It's not perfect, but it looks pretty good, if you don't look too closely. ;-)

And I have to admit that it isn't nearly as outrageously entertaining and fun to live blog as the RNC. That said, Bill Clinton, old and frail and raspy-voiced, still gave a helluva speech last night, and Michelle Obama gave a truly memorable one the night before. Now I have two more days in the office, and I'm off for another 4-day weekend. Huzzah! And that will use up what is left of my vacation for the 2014-15 fiscal year. This is the first time since the early 2000's that I have used all of my vacation leave.

I helped Mike, along with several other people, move on what was the worst moving day in the history of moving days Saturday. It rained, hard, all day. The temp never got above the upper 30's.
