Quick milestone update... Jana received a Reading Certificate in class today. Yay! She was the third of about 21 students so far. She had to read aloud, 5 books. As a reward, I took her to her favorite restaurant, "Cheesecake Factory ( Read more... )

...Jana lost her first tooth today (Friday).

Will try to post more later, just wanted to get a milestone entry in.

Last week, Jana's teachers (3) took the class (PreK/K) to Entropy, a mini mart on campus. There are roughly 20 kids in the class, and each were given a dollar to do so as they pleased. I've always heard other parents say to me, "don't you wish she could stay like this?" Or how they miss their kid when they were an infant, a toddler, 4, 5, etc? Since I really couldn't identify with that, my response was a typical smile and nod to acknowledge what they said. And then I'd change the subject ( Read more... )

Jana is in PreSchool I this year. Her class track is then to proceed to PreSchool II then PreK/K. Some of us were notified last week that our children have the opportunity to go PreK/K next fall instead of PreSchool II. The parents meeting was yesterday ( Read more... )

Jana was anxious to hit a playground today, but with temperatures just under 30F, I opted to take her to the mall. And as expected for a Saturday afternoon, it was c-r-a-z-y there. Anywhere between 8-11 pre-schoolers piled up at the bottom of the main slide and Jana saying, "that's part of the fun." Luckily, I discovered free wifi to help distract ( Read more... )

We've been rather lucky, we didn't really encounter Terrible 2's nor 3's. But it seems we may have embarked on Friggin' 4's. Many things considered, Jana's pretty good.
