Jana's very excited her birthday party is coming up, it's now two weeks away from today. I'm trying to keep it small, because I think that's all I can handle. So I asked her for a list of friends to invite. Since then, she's verbally invited a couple more friends. For now, we're at 5 friends invited. Our answering machine was busted by that lightening strike some months ago, I finally got a replacement and set it up last week. I had Jana record the outbound message, give us a call during lunchtime (12-1:30 EDT) to hear it. :D

Yup, this week is Teacher Appreciation Week. The folks who coordinated the pooled gift from the parents of Jana's class purchased for our 5 educators a butterfly garden kit. I think I'm the only parent that thinks the concept of "metamorphasis" might be a little much for a 2 year old. Growth is one kind of change, but to go from "worm" to "wings?" ( Read more... )

We've been struggling with Jana not wanting to wear her bulky winter coat in favor of lighter coats. Since it's snowing and in the 20s (sometimes teens) as a compromise I thought to make her a fleece poncho to throw over as another layer.
