Byxbee Park

Because Sunday was such a beautiful fall day (and because this may be our last chance to enjoy such a lovely day prior to his hip replacement surgery), D. and I got out of the house and visited Byxbee Park.  Here are some of the pics I took.

Guadalupe River Park

On Saturday D. and I took a walk in the Guadalupe River Park in San José, and I took some pics.

We begin near the bright purple Children's Discovery Museum, where a kiddie tram goes by and we inspect a giant statue of a prehistoric mammoth.

The Buddha Of Los TrancosThere were rumors of a shrine in the woods. Edgewood Preserve

On Saturday D. and I went to Edgewood Preserve to see how many wildflowers were in bloom. Edgewood is special because of the unique mineral composition of its serpentine soils, creating conditions in which only certain specialized plants can thrive. Coyote Creek Trail

On a lovely spring-like Saturday D. and I went to a segment of the Coyote Creek Trail in southern San José. The trail was paved and flat. It ran alongside the creek, which flowed and sparkled. The birds sang. We were happy. I took these pics.

Thornewood Preserve After Rain

On Sunday we got a break in the rainy weather, so D. and I returned to Thornewood Open Space Preserve to walk the trail and take some pics. Here's mine.
