Wildlife Refuge At Sunset

On Sunday it was so hot all day long, so in the evening D. and I went to the wildlife refuge in Fremont to try to catch a cool breeze along the shore of the Bay.  There wasn't much of a breath of air stirring while we were there, but we did see a pretty sunset.  Here are some of the pics I took ( Read more... )

Land's End Coastal Trail

On Monday D. and I did a couple of errands in San Francisco, then we went to Land's End to take a stroll on the Coastal Trail before having dinner in the city.  Here are some of the pics I took.

Uvas Canyon County Park

It's been a dangerously dry winter so far, so after some much-welcomed rain earlier in the week, D. and I decided to revisit Uvas Canyon County Park to see how the waterfalls are flowing, since it might be our last chance for a very long time.  Here's some of the pics I took.

BaylandsBecause it was a holiday, on Wednesday D. and I decided to spend a couple of hours at The Baylands Nature Preserve in Palo Alto.  It was a mild, clear day and the Bay was as smooth as glass.  We saw lots of gulls and other shorebirds, including green-winged teal, avocets, killdeer, yellowlegs, northern shovelers, coots, sandpipers, and a ( Read more... )
