Coyote Creek Trail

On Sunday D. and I went to South San José to take a walk on the Coyote Creek Trail near Silicon Valley Blvd.  When we got there the creek was so dry from the on-going drought we were able to walk in the creek bed itself, and I took some pics.

The hills near the creek show burned areas from a recent fire.

Coyote Creek Trail, Metcalf Park to Hwy 85

Bair Island

On Sunday D. and I wandered around Bair Island, where trails are still being constructed among abandoned salt evaporation ponds being restored back into natural tidal marshes for the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge, and I took some pics.

California Academy of Sciences, Steinhart Aquarium: Philippine Coral Reef

Wunderlich County Park

On an atypically overcast Sunday (for this time of year), D. and I went to Wunderlich County Park in Woodside. It contains what was once the Folger (of coffee fame) family ranch. Hoping the rain would hold off while we were there, I took these pics.

Coyote Creek Trail

On a lovely spring-like Saturday D. and I went to a segment of the Coyote Creek Trail in southern San José. The trail was paved and flat. It ran alongside the creek, which flowed and sparkled. The birds sang. We were happy. I took these pics.

The Baylands, Palo Alto

On Saturday D. and I went to the Baylands Nature Preserve in Palo Alto to enjoy the warm sunny day. We both took some pics. Mine first.
