Yesterday there was a job fair on campus for the various school-owned restaurants and cafeterias and so forth. Of course I went. My friend Weeble, formerly the day manager at Assanté’s when I worked there, recently lost her job, so I told her about the job fair and invited her to come along. Went out pounding the pavement today. It wasn’t as hot as last week. I doubt that it ever got over 95 degrees and the humidity was around 50-60%. Well, I got a phone call this morning from Martin’s. That’s the grocery that swallowed Ukrop’s, which means that I buy my salad from them now. They want me to come in on Tuesday for a job interview. Richmond is a city obsessed with history. The place is wallpapered in historic landmarks, monuments, and especially museums. One of these is called the Valentine. Man, I got a lot done today. Cleaned up the apartment. Went to the grocery for wine and cat food. Went to the dollar store for Gatorade and cat litter.
