Yesterday there was a job fair on campus for the various school-owned restaurants and cafeterias and so forth. Of course I went. My friend Weeble, formerly the day manager at Assanté’s when I worked there, recently lost her job, so I told her about the job fair and invited her to come along. So it’s 2010, and I have to go back, after ten years, to using two numbers for the year when I date things. I find that disappointing. As far as I know I’m the only person who actually did write dates as, for example, 12/31/9 as opposed to 12/31/09, so I don’t suppose anybody else cares, but I’ll miss it ( Read more... )

I walked home tonight from work, as I always do. I came up out of the Tenth Street viaduct and was passing the Blockbuster there on the corner of Eighth Avenue when I saw an old friend walking out. We waved to each other, and I walked up to say hello. We hugged. It was a good hug ( Read more... )

So, I walked home from work last night, on account of I walked to work yesterday morning. Easy enough.
