Typing all that drama out yesterday helped, I think.  I guess the journal did its job and helped me clear some of my thoughts.

I'm still coasting on a high from the Sunday photoshoot, as I keep finding pics I took that day that strike me as really good.  And, based on comments from some people who've seen them, are good.  It's nice.

Managed to get in the rest of turn 1 of Hube's Pocket in with Graham. His bad luck continued, and I managed to crush two of his Tank Corps with some counter-attacks. It's not going to matter in the long run, though. Already, my front is collapsing and it'll just get worse as we continue.  We rolled for the weather of Turn 2 and it came up cool ( Read more... )

Started my day off helping a friend move, mostly by providing a rented moving van and some help organizing things. While we did end up moving most of her stuff, it was mostly confused and unplanned. The downside was that I spent a lot of time standing on pavement, which did not help my feet any.

Hunter was over and we played a bit on one of the Star Wars miniatures maps. Nothing too fancy, and no real rules involved... I think he just wanted the novelty of using one of my maps. There was also some play outside with the cars (and man, what a beautiful February so far), and then much complaining when it was time to go home.

Finished up D-Day. Beevor wraps up with another shot at Monty, but it seems a deserved one. Overall, the book is a really well done history of the campaign from D-Day to the liberation of Paris. As with most of Beevor's works I've read, highly recommended.

Well, finished up Generation Kill in a straight shot today. Excellent series, and one I would highly recommend. In many ways, it felt like a follow up to Band of Brothers to me, only with less of the "Greatest Generation" gloss, and a more modern edge.
