Hunter was over today.  We hung out, nibbling on some gummy snacks and playing LEGO Indiana Jones, mostly.  There was also an expedition to the park, which was interrupted by us arriving there and Hunter announcing he had to go to the bathroom.  We walked back to my place, then return to the park to find is suddenly swarming with "day camp kids".  ( Read more... )

Pathfinder tonight.  The players threw me a knuckleball... Picked up RED DEAD REDEMPTION today, because I'm a sucker for Westerns and "sandbox" game play.  The setting is the made-up state of new Austin, in 1911... so you have the blending of the early 20th century (with cars, semi-automatic pistols, and federal authority) and the end of the 19th (with ( Read more... )

A light day.  Ran an errand with Holly & Hunter early in the morning, then spend the time until Hunter had to go to school playing at my place.  There was some struggling over the LEGO Batman, as he's starting to get the hang of doing things and finds Dad's tendency to want to do other stuff annoying.  He's pretty much over his recent cold, which ( Read more... )

Pathfinder tonight.  The party put down the pick-axe weilding stone giant ranger without much trouble, the set out to track the rest of the fleeing stone giants back to their lair.

They dealt with an ambush pretty handily, but lost most of their horses in the process.  This'll slow them down a little and give the giants a bit of time to prep.

Sometimes I find myself reading a thread on RPG.net or Paizo.com and wonder to myself why it's so important to dissect and shaved down the wording of rules. There'll be threads that go on and on, debating the precise meaning of some rule phrase, and they go on until some recognized authority (only rarely the game publisher) makes some statement.
