Day 15,121
A light day. Ran an errand with Holly & Hunter early in the morning, then spend the time until Hunter had to go to school playing at my place. There was some struggling over the LEGO Batman, as he's starting to get the hang of doing things and finds Dad's tendency to want to do other stuff annoying. He's pretty much over his recent cold, which is good.
Watched Red Cliff last night... the cut up version they released on Blu-Ray. Cut down to 2.5 hours from 4, it really did suffer from the missing 1.5 hours of character and story. For my part, I found myself cheering when various characters from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms appeared (and boo-hissing when Cao Cao appeared).
Which tells me I may have played too much Dynasty Warriors, Kessen II and Romance of the Three Kingdoms in my youth.
The film itself has amazing visuals and a real epic tale with its toes dipped into history. John Woo is on top of his game with this one, doing stuff that he was never able to manage in the US. Which is a shame, because he really is an amazing filmmaker, which never came through over here.
