Right now I'm making some fingerless gloves that I've decided to embellish with a little cabling. I haven't done a lot of cables but I love them. Ok, I'm a newer knitter and I'm trying to follow a pattern for the first time (been knitting about 5 months or so).

The first step says to cast on one stitch and knit it. Ok, I can do that. After, the instructions call for an increase of one stitch in each row until you have 24 stitches total.

I'm stuck.

Help anyone?

i'm knitting a baby blanket and i want to make it a little wider.

the pattern row says:
*k7, yo, k2tog, repeat from * to last 6, k6.

now, i cast on 123 stitches. if i wanted to increase it by 1 extra eyelet, how many stitches would i have to add to my cast on?
