Not to long ago I got the metal interchangable set from Knit Picks but I can't figure out how to use the tool thingy to tighten them for some reason. I could knit with them as they are and just tighten them as needed but after awhile I think that would frustrate me. Right now I'm making some fingerless gloves that I've decided to embellish with a little cabling. I haven't done a lot of cables but I love them. I seem to be having way more trouble than I should doing the increases before starting the actual cable. I'm supposed to do a double increase which I somehow keep getting wrong. A while back I posted asking for cabling help. You guys were great, very helpful and encouraging, and I wanted to say thanks. :)

I sent the scarf off to the Red Scarf Project (yes, it was that long ago) but the only pic I could get of it was with my cell phone camera. (This is also my lamp's first modeling job. Good old lamp.)

I feel like this should have a simpe enough reply.

I would -love- to start cabling. Can I use a DPN as a cable needle? Are they the same thing? Am I overanalyzing this?

While we're on this topic, what is a great beginner project that has some nice pretty cables?

When cabling do you need a specific cable needle or can you just use any old DPN you have to hand? Is one easier than the other?
