This evening was spent at the Toronto Symphony Orchestra listing to the music of Holst - The Planets. Sat in our usual seat/box, relaxed and enjoyed.

The program started with Stravinsky: Funeral Song, then John Estacio: Trumpet Concerto followed by the intermission and finally ended with Holst: The Planets

Headed over to Roy Thompson Hall to listen to Orff's Carmina Burana. There were two sets of choirs - the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir and the Toronto Children’s Chorus. Headed over to The Royal Conservatory for their 21C Festival 2017 to see Angele Dubeau & La Pieta at Koerner Hall, 8pm. The classical ensemble consisted of violin, viola, cello, base, and piano. Yesterday we went to see Cross'd by the Stars by the Talisker PLayers at Trinity St. Paul's Centre. It's where vocal & chamber music plus theatre meet. We skipped the pre-concert talk which mostly consists of music theory for the production and I just don't care to be honest ( Read more... )

We're under a winter snow storm warning...expected to get 15 to 25 cm by Wednesday morning. A goodly amount has already fallen this morning but the heaviest amount is still to come this evening.

Another music legend has left this mortal coil. Glenn Frey of the Eagles has died and there are no words. I love the Eagles music and it's heartbreaking especially since Glenn was involved in so many things and wrote many songs most don't even realize ( Read more... )

Today the world lost an icon and a legend. David Bowie. Pretty sure wherever Bowie is, he's staging a concert! I remember back in 87 lady__Croft and me went to Bowie's Glass Spider concert when it toured. It was the best stage performance I'd ever seen and still is to this day. I'm so lucky I got to see it.
