The past several days were extremely trying. Haven't been so happy to see the end of it in a while. Don't want to get into detail here but I'm looking to Monday with considerable trepidation. Sigh.

Will stick to book reviews for the most part, so as to not fall behind. Mostly O. Henry, plus an excellent book about Edgar Allan Poe.

The protests about the stay at home orders was anticipated, but I'd hoped they wouldn't materialize until at least the end of May. No, for the past couple weeks, they've been in full-force in several states. Hopefully, just a minority of people, but some have truly turned ugly. Not necessarily for me, but it's Groundhog Day (both Chuck and Phil have called for early spring, and given the weather patterns I've seen, both rodents might actually be correct; also, trying to think the last time they both called for an early spring.) It's been a busy couple weeks! I've been working on stories for two magazines, and it's the usual busy season for entertainment-related things. But it's been a lot of fun! I'm doing stories on restaurants in one area, and doing a story on another community's K-9. Those assignments kept me on the road a good deal, which I love. Also indulged in two ( Read more... )
