I was assigned a case to check and document with photos. The instruction was to get a disposable camera with flash and use that. I did that, however:

a) I have never gotten (consistantly) good photos with a disposable camera the way I have with my 35 mm camera.

b) I really need the ability to do close up shots.
( In which I attempt to remedy b). )

OK, I want to at least START with something nice. Last night I went to my house to pick up books. I notice something dark about two feet above the stairs, on the concrete foundation. I think it's a stick blown/stuck there from the storm, but I shine my wee flashlight on it ( Read more... )

Today we had several hours of training on dangerous dog handling. It was interesting and very educational. The two guys who did the training were wonderful and brought along leads and stuffed dogs of assorted sizes so we could practice roping/muzzling techniques. I need to make one to practice with! I have a number of flashlights here. *None* of the ones I could locate worked because all the batteries were dead. At least, I am pretty sure that's the problem.
