This *should* be a simple thing to get...
A plain black tie. Not a bow tie, a regular tie. I need one for my id photo for the SPCA. No photo, no id.
No id, can't get sent out on (uniformed) calls.

I've reminded my brother a half dozen times over several weeks to bring his down so I can *borrow* it. Most recently last night. (He found it while on the phone with me. Me: "OK, now put it where you will see it on the way out the door so you don't forget it"). He shows up today and drops the dog off, but no tie...
I've tried finding one in a store (five stores so far), but if I'm going to buy one, I want it to look ok on me. (If I just borrow it for a photo, it won't matter; only the top inch or so below my neck will show. But otherwise a wide one (current fashion) will look too, um, wide on my frame.) I looked for a kid's tie, and found one that looked about right. Unfortunately, to get it, I have to buy the shirt it was packaged with. Pass.
I've tried finding the skinny one I used to have, to no avail. I haven't seen it in years. I'm still hoping to find it during the moving process, as I liked it.
I tried posting a "wanted" on Freecycle. No response.
So I just tried a site I *thought* belonged to the Quartermaster catalog (they sell uniforms and related supplies). I typed in http://www.quartermaster.com and up comes...um...a Pfizer site for dairy cow teat medication.
Somehow, I don't think they'll have what I'm looking for...
Maybe I'll just go back to the uniform supply store where I got my pants and see if they have one. :-p It's gotta be faster than running around.
