Nice, nice win, but the Democrats now have to present a forceful plan and start building on this momentum, turning it from anti-Bush/GOP to pro-Democrat. There's a huge opportunity here to reclaim the Democratic party from the GOP labeling that has kept the donkeys somewhat marginalized.

Well, busy busy busy. We had our "Barrister's Ball" (read "law school prom") last Friday, sort of a dressy dance thing that is a big deal at other law schools but not so much in SF. It was held at an art gallery / club-type place, which was actually pretty nice, and it quite a bit of fun was had by all, but calling it a "ball" was a little silly ( Read more... )

I didn't think The Departed was a 9.5, but CHUD's review does sum it up pretty well. I will unflinchingly say that the movie is really good and the cast is amazing. My birthday was fucking awesome. My couch came in (and while it was an incredible bitch, I managed to figure out how to get the cover on it), so our apartment is now looking like a real liveable place, got some good presents, and had two people bring me cakes!
