First, the Crane Wife is a terrific album, another slice of greatness by the fucking terrific Decemberists.

Second, The Last King of Scotland is a great movie, probably the best I've seen this year. Forest Whitaker deserves at least a couple of Oscars for his performance as Idi Amin. This isn't just another biographical aping of a distinctive character (see: Ray). This is a slice of absolute amazingness. Theatrical deliciousness you might say.

Cause everybody knows, if you don't mind your mother's words a wicked wind will blow your ribbons from your curls. Everybody moan, everybody shake, the Shankhill butchers want to catch you, awake....
