I knew it wouldn't be a good idea to watch a sci-fi horror film before going to bed. But I had a plan! After Pandorum finished I'd watch an episode of Community for light-hearted fun... but the halloween episode is a lot more scary than I expected. Sporadic sleep and unsettling sex dreams ahoy!

Ed Wood is the kinda film you can only appreciate if you really already knew about Ed Wood. Given Burton's direction and the "broad" characterisation it's really quite difficult to tell what is actually true and what is just a homage to what might be true. Bad movie watching continues unabated with The Thing from Another World, a 1954 sci-fi (no, really?) in which an alien spacecraft crashes in the Arctic and a reanimated alien terrorises a rather unperturbed set of scientists and military men. Post-Christmas is always such a boring time of year. Actually, I think that of Christmas itself too come to think of it. This feeling of boredom was enhanced by the day I spent at the cricket. Finally got around to watching Monsters today (at work no less). Unfortunately I can't give my unbiased opinion of the film because they cast the most adorable, tomboy dream-girl possible and I'm a little smitten.
