Post-Christmas is always such a boring time of year. Actually, I think that of Christmas itself too come to think of it. This feeling of boredom was enhanced by the day I spent at the cricket. Australia does not appear to be very good at this sport. And my god it was cold. I will always compare the depth of cold to that which I experienced in Greymouth, NZ - bitterly, bitterly cold - and while it wasn't that bad I still managed to get sunburnt. This is another skill I have. Bah!

I'm giving The King's Speech four stars, Margaret. I have my usual issues with non-fiction-based stories (in that they cherry-pick their events to fit a narrative) and I thought it could have been a bit more cinematic, but Colin Firth is so compelling (and surprisingly funny) in his role that it didn't matter. Highly recommended.
