After the week I've had, I decided it was time for a me day. I headed out early to the Dallas Arboretum plant sale where I picked up two purple Chinese fan flowers, two purple summer snapdragons, a 'Mystic Spire' sage, and a vampire sage. In like a lion, out like a lamb... well, it seems March is starting as a very wet lion as it's pouring right now. Makes me want to buy a rain barrel for the backyard, like I wanted to do last year but the hubs made too much fun of the idea. Actually, no groundhogs in sight here but it's still darned cold. I was grateful that the arctic that we were expecting turned out to be just a lot of cold air. The pansies, jonquils, narcissi, and assorted daffodils have come back from the icing they got around Christmas and are blooming again. Yesterday, I realized that something was wrong with my left hand. If it had been my drawing hand, I would have noticed sooner but the heel of my left hand had become red and swollen and red streaks were going up my wrist. Not a good sign. I used to say that my grandmother was such a good gardener that she could put a stick in the ground and make it bloom. *L* I'm proud to say that I have lived up to the potential of my gardening genes.
