I'm happy to see LJ filling up again with lots of HP people, either wailing in distress or gloating--I'm on record as being a H/Hr shipper first and foremost, although as the series went on I came to really appreciate R/Hr more. Oh my God, you guys. If you ever want to take a trip down memory lane, I'd recommend going through ten years worth of emails on your fandom email account. I thought (UNSURPRISINGLY) Seth MacFarlane was a pretty terrible host, with only a couple of notable exceptions (the Sound of Music joke was great, as were his jokes about the length of the show, but truly EVERYTHING ELSE WAS AWFUL). Knew it was coming for the past two months (thank you, fucking internet), but still: ugh.
Y'all, British period pieces are my one true love, so whyyy when one is finally popular with the general public does it have to devolve into such a mess? -

I was just browsing around Rotten Tomatoes, as one does, and all of the early reviews of The Hobbit - even the positive ones! - are pretty much confirming my worst fears about this movie. It is too long, and the fact that they're making three movies is totally insane. I didn't even like the extended editions of LOTR - I vastly preferred the ( Read more... ) -

I don't wish to be melodramatic, but I just finished The Mark of Athena (if you do not know what that is then YOU NEED TO GET OFFLINE AND GO READ SOME PERCY JACKSON, FRIEND) and I cried like a baby. UNPOPULAR OPINION ALERT
Finally saw The Avengers. Liked it well enough, but it has finally pushed me over the edge into accepting that I do not like comic book movies (specifically Marvel universe movies [because I do adore the Nolan Batman trilogy, so that is one big score for DC]) as much as the world wants me to. I am sorry, universe. Please don't hate me.
