The Hobbit
Verdict: unimpressed.
Seriously, parts of it were good but I thought it completely betrayed the spirit of the book and tried way too hard to be uber-epic like LotR and in the process lost all the things about the book that make it so delightful. It's too long, of course, and there's no need to drag this out for two more movies, but the main issue is that this movie is just trying to be something that its source material is not.
