National Geographic had a story about new words accepted into the dictionary.  About half of them I recognized (cankle, face palm, NSFW) and about half I didn't.  One of the unfamiliar ones was floordrobe, defined as "The floor of a room, littered with discarded clothing."

I went for a walk around Lake Balboa today.  All the cherry trees were in full bloom.  Millions of coots, a good population of widgeons and mallards, a bunch of comerants, and a swan!  I've never seen a swan there before.  It appeared to be a juvenile tundra (whistling) swan.  Very big!  Gorgeous day today-- mid-60's to low 70's, sunny with not too ( Read more... )
