Okay, I hadn't bothered with Pottermore since getting my official welcome back on August 26th; at that time the site seemed rather clunky and navigation difficult.

Since then I've been reading nothing but complaints about how difficult people have been finding accessing the site is, so I still didn't feel any need to go back.

By midday Wednesday they were saying Hurricane Irene was going to hit NY and New England.  So I went out and topped off my gas tank (no lines, no price gouging), and then went to Ocean State Job Lot and bought a whole bunch of batteries.

Okay, I already knew that I had gotten accepted for early entry into Pottermore, but had to await the official Welcome email to get actual access to the site.

Okay, so I started checking the Pottermore site just after 7pm EDT, in the off chance that it's determination of "July 31st" started at midnite GMT.
