Ivanova had her ppg in hand, alert for danger as she passed through the hallways. She was on her way to the kitchen when she say the teenager down the hallway.

"Hello?" She asked cautiously, since some of the monsters were still very human looking.

Sakura whipped around rather suddenly. She was a bit on edge, after all, and still believed that this was all an illusion planted on her head; she had to be prepared for anything.

For a second, she wondered if any of the weapons on her person would be of any use here.

"Who's there?"

Ivanova was also still entertaining the notion that this was a mental illusion, although having been her so long was wearing on the idea.

"Susan Ivanova, who are you?" She left off the rank, to avoid the misconception that she held any authority here.

"... Haruno Sakura."

It couldn't hurt to say that much, right? She had to assume she'd been attacked for a reason, so that much information couldn't be too dangerous.

But she was still visibly tense as she regarded the other woman. Ivanova wasn't anyone she recognized, wore no village symbols of any kind -- hell, even the name sounded foreign to her. Sakura didn't know what to make of that, so when she continued, it was in a much blunter tone than she might normally adopt. "Where am I?"

After the experiments Knuckle had retreated into the library to recuperate, only to discover he was suffering hallucinations and sudden uncharacteristic fits of rage.

Hence why the tired and slightly frazzled look priest just stared at the young woman for a moment? Was she a hallucination too? Most of what he had been seeing revolved around the people he knew... and she was... very unfamiliar. As was the way she dressed... A bit too revealing in his opinion but he wasn't going to say a word.

Well, real or not, it wouldn't hurt to help her.

"Ah, can I help you miss?"

Funny, how the both of them were thinking along similar lines, how neither of them knew what to make of this encounter. Designed a genjutsu to trap a person in a place they didn't know and with people they didn't know -- it's a strange approach.

She couldn't help but be wary. Couldn't help but look wary; then again, she wasn't trying to hide it.

"I'm... not sure," Sakura replied. (She didn't think it was a matter of can he help, but would he help?) "Who are you?"

"My name is Knuckle. I'm a priest." That usually helped put people at ease, he even raised his hands palms facing he to show that he meant no harm. Though he would have been more comfortable if he could be sure he wasn't going to hurt her. He would have to warn her about the fits of rage shortly, probably not though though.

"I do not recall seeing you here before, have you just arrived?"

The fact that he appeared unarmed did more to ease her than his claim. He could say he was anything, of course, but his gesture reassured her -- if only a very little bit.

"Arrived?" Not exactly the word she'd use. A genjutsu wasn't a place. "... yeah, I guess I did."

Ooh wow! A girl with pink hair! Sakura was easily drawn to pretty thing and bright colors, so naturally while exploring the library, Sakura would no doubt approach the girl and strike up conversation.

Because joy of joys, Sakura Kinomoto was at that blissful, tender age where she doesn't realize that people couldn't absolutely adore her (or at least be friends with her). You wouldn't ruin that for her, would you? Would you, now?

"Wow! Your hair is so pretty!!"

Were you trying to sneak around, Miss Ninja-Person? Ooooops!

Miss Ninja-person was, actually, and didn't exactly relish being snuck up upon by a little girl. So Sakura just stared at the other for a long moment, confused, wondering what kind of trick this might be before she realized that the girl had spoken to her.

"Ah -- thank you?"

Forgive her: she was normally a lot more polite and talkative than that, but she was rather thrown by the odd turn of events she'd landed in, and she trusted absolutely nothing at the moment.

Sakura giggled, beaming up at the nice girl. She wasn't quite as tall as her older brother, maybe a little younger? That made it easier, she didn't have to worry about being as polite!

"Your hair is pink!" Sakura declared, as though the other girl had yet to be notified. "It looks really soft!"

Casting another cautious look around, checking to make sure that nothing was going to come at her back (probably), Sakura let herself smile at the girl.

"Yeah. I was born with it like this," she said, way too used to people commenting on its strangeness. She bent down a little, to be more on the younger girl's level.

"I'm Haruno Sakura. Who are you?"

She seemed to have things under control, and he wouldn't have bothered the girl until he saw a flash of her headband. Konoha ninja, but he didn't recognize her.

That wasn't exactly a problem, but he knew most active duty ninja around his age and pink hair was fairly memorable. In fact, the only one he remember was one of Sasuke's little classmates and this girl looked far too old.

Which might be a result of slipping time-lines, but he wasn't sure. "Excuse me, are you from Konoha?" He smiled, hoping she would turn so he could get a better look at her forehead. But the symbol was one he had been surrounded by his entire life, as close as the Uchiha fan sewn onto his back.

Sakura started, halfway through a stanza in a thoroughly useless book of poetry (not a kind she recognized), and could have kicked herself a moment later. Some ninja you are.

A name she recognized, finally. Konoha. And when she turned to look at him, she recognized the symbol on his forehead protector too. Any other time, it might have put her at ease.

"I am." She took a moment to take him in, cataloging observations, not the least bit ashamed of looking because it's what any shinobi would do, what he'd probably do in return. Weapons, stature, his bandaged eye. Maybe lost, maybe not; she'd been trained by the Copy Ninja, she wasn't going to make assumptions.

"So are you," she commented, and it wasn't exactly a question. She didn't recognize him, but there was something unsettlingly familiar about him just the same.

He studied her for a moment, observing her weapons, equipment bags, and complete lack of clan markings. Watching her general nervousness for a moment before offering her a shallow bow that never broke eye contact. "Uchiha Shisui, Jounin of Konoha, and you are?" He smiled politely, relaxed as he possibly could be.

She seemed guarded, but he couldn't imagine very many ninja being comfortable with being moved to who knew where all by themselves.

"Uchiha...?"

For a second, her shock registered quite nakedly across her face. Granted, she wasn't always the best at schooling her expressions, but that name was all it took to lose control of it completely.

It wasn't every day you ran into a dead man, after all.

(Genjutsu, she reminded herself.)

Sakura managed to pull her composure back in, at least enough to reply: "Haruno Sakura, Chuunin." She returned the bow, because she wasn't always this rude, but her eyes never left him either.
