After the experiments Knuckle had retreated into the library to recuperate, only to discover he was suffering hallucinations and sudden uncharacteristic fits of rage.

Hence why the tired and slightly frazzled look priest just stared at the young woman for a moment? Was she a hallucination too? Most of what he had been seeing revolved around the people he knew... and she was... very unfamiliar. As was the way she dressed... A bit too revealing in his opinion but he wasn't going to say a word.

Well, real or not, it wouldn't hurt to help her.

"Ah, can I help you miss?"

Funny, how the both of them were thinking along similar lines, how neither of them knew what to make of this encounter. Designed a genjutsu to trap a person in a place they didn't know and with people they didn't know -- it's a strange approach.

She couldn't help but be wary. Couldn't help but look wary; then again, she wasn't trying to hide it.

"I'm... not sure," Sakura replied. (She didn't think it was a matter of can he help, but would he help?) "Who are you?"

"My name is Knuckle. I'm a priest." That usually helped put people at ease, he even raised his hands palms facing he to show that he meant no harm. Though he would have been more comfortable if he could be sure he wasn't going to hurt her. He would have to warn her about the fits of rage shortly, probably not though though.

"I do not recall seeing you here before, have you just arrived?"

The fact that he appeared unarmed did more to ease her than his claim. He could say he was anything, of course, but his gesture reassured her -- if only a very little bit.

"Arrived?" Not exactly the word she'd use. A genjutsu wasn't a place. "... yeah, I guess I did."

"Ah, this may be tricky then, perhaps we should have a seat. I'll explain to the best of my ability."

He turned to the couch, which looked like it had a rough time of things. Along with the general vicinity around the couch. He looked at the scene solemnly before he took a seat.

"Though I must request you try to keep your distance. I don't mean to be rude, I just haven't been myself lately."

I was going to do that anyway.

But Sakura wouldn't say that. She only followed him to the sitting area, taking in the layer of dust, the disrepair. She crossed her arms under her cloak, trying to hold in body heat.

"Haven't been yourself... and you need me to stay away from you?" It was an odd request, but she followed it, sitting a few arm's-lengths away from him.

The priest takes a deep breath as he prepares to explain the whole situation. It wasn't going to be pleasant in the least.

"This place... I'm not sure anyone knows how it works exactly, but it seems to be taking people from there homes and bringing them here. Time doesn't even factor in properly. I know a woman who met her son of almost thirty years while she remembers seeing him last as just a child. As for myself I have technically been dead for about a century until I woke up here as whole and healthy as the day I died." He let out a little sigh, "As for the house itself... there are creatures here. Some are passive, some are not. A few others as well as myself had a bit of a run-in with the not-so-passive lot... and ever since I have been finding myself flying into rages, and seeing things that aren't there. There is another woman, Mary, who seems to had had something similar done to her, but she hasn't been graced with the brief moments of clarity I have. I have not encountered any of the others, so I cannot speak for them ( ... )

She had to give him credit for admitting it outright. It wasn't anything she'd anticipated, but that didn't make her stiffen any less when he tells her about the rages and hallucinations.

Sakura didn't reach for a weapon -- but she knew where each one was, and she knew the easiest one to get to in case she'd need it.

"What kind of creatures?"

"Well, there are a multitude really. Ah, give me a moment... my memory isn't as good as it used to be, so I took some notes."

He pulls his bible off the table and flips to the back, where he briefly looks over his notes, to refresh his memory.

"There are some stray dogs, a set of twins that... do not appear to be among the living any longer, but they will not harm you. Only quiet you. There's a little girl... I am not sure exactly what she is... but I believe she holds great power. My friend had an encounter with a man on fire that wounded him when he tried to help. Then there are the creatures that took a small group of us to be... altered in some way. They were ghost-like, and physically strong. Once they got a hold of you, you couldn't break free, but should you hit them, they couldn't be touched." He ran a hand over his her, his face stern as he recalled the creatures, and his inability to flee from them. I'm afraid that's all I know for now. There are more, but I have not encountered them."
