Around 9pm the fire alarm went off. I was sleeping at the time (having a weird dream about several dogs running wild at the hotel I work at); so I woke up and shambled on downstairs. Turned out someone PULLED the alarm on the eighth floor. NOT FUNNY!

You'd not believe what happened to me the other day.  I'm in the elevator at my hotel, keychain in hand.  The door opens on the first floor and I accidentally drop my keys, right down the elevator shaft!  Crazily enough, the pen light on my keychain somehow stayed on, so I could see it on the floor.  Borrowing a phone from the elderly lady who ( Read more... )

So, I jury rigged a trap, basically consisting of a board (used as a ramp) leading up to a  long slender plastic container with a empty toilet paper roll with some peanut butter inside.  I put a thin dry wipe underneath the toilet roll that BARELY supports it's weight.  In theory, when the mouse comes to get the peanut butter, he'll go into the ( Read more... )

As I write this a LOUD alarm is going off just down the hall.  (BTW it's 7am in the morning.)  You see, the apartment complex I live in was designed for mainly the elderly and the handicapped, so in each bathroom there's an emergency pull cord.  If you pull it, a little dome outside your door lights up and a LOUD alarm sounds.  Well, apparently, ( Read more... )
