Uh.. not feeling the best. I'm tired (as usual) and my stomach's bugging me a little bit. Think maybe I should have eaten that food my co-worker had left over (I did steal it, she offered it to me), but it's been sitting out for God knows how long, even in the container but I'm a damn glutton sometimes...
Spent most of today drifting in and out of sleep. At the apartment complex, they've been working on putting in a new elevator. They've been doing the big one first, then they'll replace the small one. It's funny, for the first couple of weeks, you really couldn't tell they were doing anything, but now you can: we've got new doors on all the floors (or at least, the ones I've been on), and you can HEAR the progress, they'll be banging and blaring away with various power tools throughout the day.
Oh, did I mention my room is right next to the elevator shaft?
So, yeah, didn't sleep too well today. Luckily I caught a few hours the night before. Around six pm I woke up and watched the rest of the film Re-cycle (an Asian horror movie) and then it was about seven thirty after I finished and all the special features. I sat in my chair for a bit, contemplating whether or not I should a) try and get an hour or two of sleep before I have to get ready for work, or b) just wake up "for good", take a shower, and do something else for the time I have remaining.
I decided to go back to bed for a nap. Not sure how good of a nap it was though, I had a freaking nightmare. Not sure on all the details, but basically, me, my sister, her husband, two of her kids and myself had gotten an assignment to go out to some area and work in the mines for a bit (or something, not sure what, but it was related to construction, I remember that.) Anyway, we go out there, and find the road is blocked off, and we're suddenly in a large, white tunnel and there's a bunch of people (some with kids and stuff) standing around, apparently mining the walls and stuff. It's some kind of check point or something and we decided to get back on the road and try another route.
We're all walking back down the tunnel and I notice there's a downward slant to it, so I rush forward and became "sliding" down the tunnel like it's made of ice or something (maybe it was, I dunno, we all seemed to be bundled up against the cold.) Suddenly I came up a dead end, and the tunnel has gotten noticeably smaller. I yell to the others that the tunnels blocked and for them to go back, when suddenly walls come down, sealing each of us in individual sections. Then the walls on the side begin to push forward, tightening the spaces. I start to panic and yell as they push towards me, but they stop right just as they're about to crush me (and, presume, everyone else).
There's a voice over a loud speaker, basically saying we're triggered the security checkpoint or some such, and the guards will be there in five minutes to take us into custody. I yell back, "You idiots, we don't have enough AIR to last that long!" And the voice seems to be all apologetic saying, "Oh, sorry, we'll fix that in the next model!"
And that's pretty much where the dream ends.
Normally I'm good at ascribing personal meanings to my own dreams, but I'm drawing a blank on this one, course, partly I can't think to clearly right now, my mind is overwhelmed with thoughts along the lines of, "God, I wish I was in bed right! Man, I wish I hadn't traded days with Steph..." etc, etc. (Oh, yeah, that's another thing, I don't normally work today, but I traded with Steph, she's going to work for me Monday night.) Dunno, maybe with a bit of reworking it'll make a decent short horror story.
Only lesson I came up with right now though is maybe I shouldn't have been eating spaghetti before taking a nap...
