Thinking of changing some things...
So, I've been kicking around a few ideas, maybe one of you guys could help out with some suggestions and stuff.
First up, I just got to think I should do some cleaning at the apartment. Not just housecleaning, but organizing as well. Try and make it look a bit neater and most sociable. Among other things, I've thinking of getting rid of a lot of stuff I don't use, got a lot books I have laying around I keep saying I'll read "someday" or they're just sitting there waiting for someone on Bookmooch or Swaptree to request them but I just think they're just taking up space. Not to mention the various junk in my closets.
Also thinking of some cosmetic changes. For starters, I've got these horrible looking sheets, they're faded, there's a large ink stain on one side where a pen broke months ago, and they just don't look so great, but yet I still leave them on week after week. (Don't get the wrong idea, I mean, I WASH them every week, but still...) Need to do some searching to find some other pairs of sheets I know I've got laying around somewhere, give them a wash, and put them on the bed. Maybe I could even buy a new set... course, I'd have to figure out what size my bed is... (think it's a twin, but I'm not sure.)
Need to see if I can't simplify things a bit, and make the place look nicer as though I'm having company over, even if I probably won't be for awhile.
In addition, I'm thinking of changing my Livejournal. Actually, been kicking this idea around for awhile, just haven't got around to it. Although the theme fits my mood, I'm thinking maybe it's a bit too dark and negative seeming. I mean, I like Halloween type stuff, but maybe I need to try and build a more positive image. Maybe come with a tropical theme, similar to what I have on my Myspace (plus I like tropical stuff, so I wouldn't be doing just to look nicer.)
And maybe a new title as well... I still feel like a lost soul, but maybe I don't need to announce that to casual visitors.
In other news, I'm looking into volunteering again. I wrote an email to a local chapter of United Way, asking them if they could give me some information about local stuff I could help with. Did some searching on some other sites with zip code address lookups, but couldn't find anything in my area. Also been kicking around the idea of getting one of those sticks with a nail on the end (whatever you call them) and some trash bags and just roaming around picking up stuff.
I don't know.. I just want to find something to do to help others and stuff. I know my motivation is partly selfish (ie wanting to feel better myself and focus less on my own life and problems) but, hey, let's face it, isn't everything we do have some small bits of selfishness in them? Besides if you're doing good, it evens out...
