Sherman is gone. He had lost 10 pounds since his last visit... they thought his heart was going. He was able to walk into the clinic on his own and he went for a walk this morning. His week was full of pork chops and scrambled eggs.

Mom said it was very peaceful.

Today I spent half an hour basically telling my mom to euthanize our dog. :( It's heartbreaking. Sherman's decline has been so gradual that it's so hard for them to put a finger on where they need to say "No, this is too much pain/too little quality of life." Friday: Ben actually made it in at a reasonable time instead of spending 3-4 hours in traffic. That was most exciting! My vet always said that the pet food companies -- no matter which one it is -- are out to make your pet eat more food than it needs so they can sell more. Case in point, the Purina rep at school said Charlotte would need 7/8 cup Overweight Management per day to lose weight. A stray little dog is being brutally attacked by a stray large dog out in the darkness behind my apartments. I can't see them... I can only hear the high-pitched frightened piping of the small dog, the deep growls and snarls of the large dog.
