Today was a fun one at work. I dug up the half package of Halls menthol cough drops left over from the last time I was sick with a cough and brought them in with me.

I finally found a native LJ client for my phone (WebOSJournal).

I like it, it lets me view and reply to others' entries faster than I can within the Pre's web browser, as well as post entries.

So hopefully, there will be more off-the-cuff updates like this one in the future interspaced with the cross-posted Tweets.

As I've mentioned, I installed Classic onto my new phone (a Palm Pre). I'm testing out stuff in it, including the old Palm OS LJ client (which I happen to find a lot easier to use than the LJ web updates).

It's been a long week. Actually, more than a single week. But it hasn't had anything to break it up, so it's felt like a single one.

I'm at the shop getting some routine stuff done on the "new" car. Timing and serpentine belts, temp sensor, water pump. I'm going to be here a few hours. Then, if I'm lucky... I'll have time to go to a Sprint store ( Read more... )

This is officially a new low in my life.
Car wrecked.

I was in line at SuperTarget, and I got in line behind this woman, her husband, and her four kids. They had a lot of stuff (looked like two full carts' worth) up on the belt. And she's arguing with the cashier about how "Publix never gave me any problem!". I then see the six government checks atop the various piles of product. Great, another system ( Read more... )

I was at SuperTarget (the same one I always go to) to pick up some canned air and a CD binder.

As I'm leaving, I see this whorishly-dressed mother-daughter combo loading their purchase (about four bags) into the trunk of this tiny Honda. I resisted the temptation to make an impolite comment about the lack of trunk space in jap cars, and moved on.

I just had an awesome idea.

In England, they burn effigies of Guy Fawkes on the day devoted to his hanging.

I think we should adopt something similar. Would it not be awesome to burn an effigy of a classic British red-coated soldier to symbolize America's independence?
