This has been a strange weekend. My husband is at work right now, and I feel like that’s where I should be. So much is going on now.  Still loving the job, but I'm having to work all the time to build up extra billable hours in anticipation of taking two weeks off for my surgery in July.  I'm sure I'll go LJ crazy then because I'm not so good with idle time--that's probably why I was such a terror when I was growing up.

Congress has finally been cleared of any danger, and reopened. So I'm headed to work for three whole hours. What a freakin' mess! It will probably be weeks before anyone knows what killed those damned birds.

This morning, I stumbled out of bed and got dressed. On my way to work I heard a news report on the radio saying that Congress Avenue was shut down from Ceasar Chavez (First Street) all the way to the capital building and one block on either side of Congress because there were a bunch of dead birds everywhere, and the phenomenon was still being ( Read more... )

I had my first “run around like a chicken with my head cutoff” crazy litigation experience Monday through Wednesday of last week and then again yesterday. Beth (internship supervisor) called me into her office yesterday and offered me a job!  I, of course, gleefully accepted.  I tried to play it cool, but I was too excited.  I was praying so hard for this y’all.  Wee!!!  I’m still on cloud nine.   I officially start on December 11th, but I will still be working on my internship in the interim.
