I found a pretty large bald spot on my cat Lisa yesterday, right between her shoulder blades. Her skin on the spot is a little bit pink, but I haven't seen her scratching at it or fussing with it in any way. It's going to be a double dose of vet visits this week. One of Jenn's guinea pig's (Chitlin) eyes have been irritated lately so she and mom carted him off to the vet today. It looks like it's just an infection, and he's got to take some medicine (which he seems to like the taste of) and eyedrops (which he is none too fond of).

Jenn and I just got back from our Humane Society Volunteer Orientation. It was a big turn-out, I don't think they expected as many people.

We're both going to volunteer as Dog and Cat socializers. It's a nice opportunity because we both love animals, our local shelter is within walking distance of our house, we can volunteer at the same time, and ( Read more... )

I just got back from seeing The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Suffice it to say, it was absolutely fantastic.

My cat, Lisa got a tooth removed a few days ago and she was acting a little loopy on the pain medication. But she's back to her normal cranky self and all is well :) I think she's in a better mood though. That tooth really needed to go.

Okay, I've made my kitty her appointment for 9:30 on Friday. She seems like her usual self, but we want to get this checked out anyway.

Now I'm trying to cheer myself up since it's my day off and all and it's already been a tough week.

I'm worried about my kitty. Lately we'd found some scabby bumps on her back...but since she sometimes gets feline acne we didn't give it to much thought.

But tonight we found a bald spot on the back of her neck so we're going to get her a vet appointment.

I hope she's okay.

My kitty got her blood drawn on Saturday (and let me tell you she was not remotely happy about that) and we got the results yesterday. Her thyroid's looking good and she hasn't had a bad reaction to the medication ^^ This is good news...though for her it now means it's safe enough for her to get a tooth pulled. No fun!

So we're going to be leaving on Wednesday. We're going to be taking a roadtrip to Massachussetts for my Dad's high school reunion and to visit family. We'll be gone ten days (Driving five days, 2 and 1/2 each way).

We're taking my Dad's hybrid to save on gas, but it's a lot smaller than the cars we've taken in the past so it's gonna be crowded.

Well, I just got back from the vet. Let me tell you, my kitty was pissed off. But she got shots to clear up her rash and a to dispell her nausea. They gave us some extra anti-inflamatory pills in case the rash doesn't clear up in a few days. Once her rash clears up and her stomach is back to normal we'll take her back to the vet and discuss further ( Read more... )
