I had my annual review at Target today and for the first time ever I have to say I did not leave the review mad as a hornet feeling screwed over.  For once I got more than 8 cents.  In fact I got more than 3 times that with a raise of 30 cents!!! Ok I still make less than $9/hr but at least it is now $8.87 

Today was my 2nd anniversary at Target. When I applied for the job I swore to myself it wouldn't last more than a month or two. After my 90 day review I figured I might as well go for the insurance so go 6 months, get checked out and move on but I would NOT hit the one year mark. Today I was a reader at the Dr. Seuss reading day. I did it last year too and I always have SOOO much fun. While 2 other TM read too they each read one story and I read about 5 or 6. My HR was very impressed by my interaction with the children and how dramatic my readings are ( Read more... )

During the holidays I was schedualed for like 14-26hrs (last year I was like 25-36). I checked my schedual for week after next and I am down to 11! I knew I would be cut back but it wasnt until I saw the numbers that I felt my perverbial wallet deflate. Is anyone else suffering as bad (or worse)??

So yesterday was Black Friday. I arrived at Target at 5:30 as I had to start at 5:45. I was expecting huge long lines wrapping around the building once again and was saddly disapointed to see a much smaller line. Last week I got 8 guests to open Red Cards so I was rewarded by getting to pick from a box of prizes. It was a new box full of really nice stuff such as MP3 speakers, a sleeping bag, a tent, a couple of carring bags, and much more.
