I gave my two weeks notice at the library. Tomorrow's my last day. Not even six months, but it was way too long for my mental well-being.

8 AM, Dec 31. I have made the intelligent decision to stay up all night and be utterly trashed and tired for the last day of the year, as well as the small party celebrating it. Or at last it's a happier June so far than last year. Friday was the one-year anniversary of the tornado. The governor came to town and, before the big ceremony downtown, managed to stop by the local library for a little while, to get a tour from the little kids and hear about their experiences during the tornado. For the past few days I haven't been able to fall asleep 'til about 5-6 in the morning. I'm trying to move my sleep cycle forward, kill the vampiric sleep-at-dawn-wake-at-near-dusk habit, and my current tactics seem to suck. On the Eve, my parents and I made cheese fondue and started Up, then our neighbors invited us over, and we all had brownies, chocolate fondue, ice cream, and caramel vodka.
