History Alive was the first re-enactment event I attended and up until 2015 I had attended with just the one group and displayed the Regency period.

2015 brought some changes:

1. I joined a Victorian group (my favourite time period).

The day started with breakfast in our undergarments (chemise, drawers or petticoat and corset)

What a productive weekend I've had.

My little Victorian a/tea is going ahead, probs early October so I have been working on Mum's skirt. 
The pleats are taped and pinned on and I have worked on the front apron/overskirt.  We tried it on for fit and length tonight.

Next year Queensland turns 150 and Newstead House are having a garden party to celebrate and we (as a guild) are attending.  Exciting.  But through that ...

The Premiers Department are writing up some official thing (can't remember what it is exactly) for it and they needed some photos and asked for a couple of us in period costume to be in the ( Read more... )

I had to have a break from irish dance costumes (plus I needed to by some dye for my hair as I must have about 2 inches of grey regrowth - yikes!!!) so my eldest daughter and I went for a shopping trip.

Delimma

We (ACG) are going to the living history fair next weekend (at Fort Lytton) and  I am not sure which costume to wear?

1. I was itching for another opportunity to wear the elizabethan dress and I can imaging some wonderful shots amongst the fort ruins.

Had the most wonderful afternoon.  The ACG gals (well some of them) and I donned our bustle dresses for the Miegunyah House fashion parade.
