While there are several promising concerts on deck with TSO next year, the 2016-2017 season is not exactly a banner year for Mirvish or the National Ballet of Canada. I always said Moulin Rouge would make a better play than a movie. Today I had the privilege of seeing it as a ballet performed by the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. It was breathtakingly beautiful but as good as it was I honestly think it could have been better. The costumes were all right - again not as spectacular as I had hoped for. The summer has vanished far too quickly. I'm trying to remember everything I did but really, it wasn't that much. I wish I hadn't started my new job until now. I would have liked to have had the summer off. Oh well. What do I remember most about this summer, hmm...let's see.
