Well, the mood of the week has been Frustration, as I began working a new Lowes reset job for Sass.

The two good things about this week are: 1- it's over. 2- I will someday get a load of money for it.

Despite all the rain we've had, I have been able to complete the brick-laying of the addition to the firepit. I had always planned to add a base for the water heater to sit on, but other things kept it from getting done up til now. I will be able to heat 40 gallons or more of water at a time with just firewood.

Directly after the burial, the rains came in. How macabre and appropriate. It rained most of Weds and some Thursday. But that didn't distress my days. I got lucky and found two days of work at the last minute, so I was inside a CVS pharmacy, rebuilding their shampoo and facial cleansers aisle while it poured outside. $11 an hour, 13 hours... not ( Read more... )

Well, since I promised... here's the photo (artistically re-touched) made from the two I took of the new brick wall inside the Greenhouse. I had to join two to make this panarama image, but it should be accurate enough! It still needs some scouring with a wire brush and maybe a mortar joint or two could be better pointed, but I think I did a fine ( Read more... )

I spent all morning and early afternoon working in the greenhouse and garden, mortaring the second to last bit of that brick wall I keep mentioning. I have a bit left to do tomorrow, but I should be done very soon... pics will follow shortly once that's done.
