New Garden Pics!

Well, since I promised... here's the photo (artistically re-touched) made from the two I took of the new brick wall inside the Greenhouse. I had to join two to make this panarama image, but it should be accurate enough! It still needs some scouring with a wire brush and maybe a mortar joint or two could be better pointed, but I think I did a fine job on my very first mortared brick wall! I love the old brick look, with mixed types (and ages) of brick together!

Next is a close up of the boxed in section of the wall. I'm thinking about using it as a temporary firewood storage area, but it was made that way to hold a deeper bed of soil for larger plants. Plus the way the wall hugs the uneven ground made it look funky with only two rows at that end! Unbalanced... like its builder, maybe?!

Those are just extra left-over bricks stacked inside it temporarily, though knowing me, they may be there awhile...!

The concrete block you see to the left of the wall is the first cornerstone for the raised floor I plan to put in the back half of the Greenhouse. I worked very hard to get this block level in all directions. Then I filled the block with sand, and tamped that sand down very tight. And then covered it with a 1.5 inch layer of mortar, just to smoothe and level the top of the block (they're hollow, you know)... and guess who happened to come along for the cornerstone laying? That's right- one of the cats put their "Paw of Approval" on the Greenhouse Project!

Now we go outside the Greenhouse proper, through the doorway you see on the far right in the first photo- aaahhhaaa! You didn't scroll over that far, did you!?! I knew it, you're pan and scan vidiot! (That's a word I made up myself, see if you can guess what it means! *wink*) For those who are still with me, next is the new lilies pic.

More tiger lilies, ahh, leopardlils! (But they don't have spots...!)

Peace,
Korak
