The digital converter box thing seems to actually work rather well and I used the 40 buck government handout towards its purchase (if they're gonna offer it, I'll take em up on it). An 80's rock version of the Soviet National Anthem, right before the country went kaput... very amusing - we're not the only ones to have weird things done to the national song.

New phone, new cell plan, same number, no major hassles (yet). Not bad.

The internet's been working for almost four hours now. Probably the longest it's worked properly for several days.

Stupid internet is sporadic. May or may not be available online - currently leeching with my laptop from an open router across the street, and I have to stand on the edge of the patio for that to work. If anyone needs or wants to get ahold of me, best way is probably by phone until they fix this. Again.

I went and found a backup cd I made in 2001 and read through some of the stuff (including my e-mail boxes at the time) I had on it that I no longer have on my current computer. That was definitely interesting... not sure it's quite to the level of enlightening, but certainly interesting.

The printer thing tells me that my ink cartridge isn't compatible with my printer. Okay. You'd think it'd figure this out after it's been in the damn thing for months, with me printing out three other pages tonight. Guess I'll need to find another way to print this thing out...

Well, my computer decided to die on me yesterday (Tuesday). Was chugging along fine, with no signs of anything wrong, but when I got back to it, had the "you must restart your computer" in fourteen different languages over the BOINC screensaver, along with the international symbol of power. We went and got my mom a Roomba for an early mother's day gift (it was requested and she was there, so I'm not spoiling any secrets). For those who don't know what it is, it's basically a robotic vacuum cleaner in a rather small container.
