The digital converter box thing seems to actually work rather well and I used the 40 buck government handout towards its purchase (if they're gonna offer it, I'll take em up on it). Went and bought curly lights, now that I have disposable income and can spend money to save money. Every bit'll help come summer time and fun with electric bills. Didn't get enough bulbs to replace all of my lights, but made good progress and will finish it off sometime soon.

So apparently, we have a really stupid smoke detector in the kitchen (not shocking, since it's another thing the previous occupants put in) - it went off when I opened the oven. No smoke or anything other than heat and aromas of tasty food. I guess I should be happy that it's sensitive, but I do try not to wake sleeping housemates in the middle of ( Read more... )
